Verity

Hello, I’m Verity and I’m a second year undergraduate reading Music at St Hugh’s College, Oxford. I also hold a choral exhibition at Merton College, singing in their choir multiple times a week.

I studied Music (A*), Religious Studies (A*) and Latin (A*) at A level, as Head Chorister at Winchester Cathedral, At the time I held a scholarship on the Hampshire Specialist Music Course. I have a diploma in singing, and play both the violin and piano to Grade 8 level.

Whilst music is my expertise, I have previously tutored English, Religious Studies and Latin to GCSE, and have taught piano and violin to children of a range of ages. I have successfully helped students apply to Oxford to read Music, providing advice about choral scholarships, personal statements and coursework submissions.

I am keen to encourage students to think broadly and critically about the wider context of music, as well as deepening their understanding of the more technical aspects.
