Sasha

Hi there! I’m Sasha and I’m currently studying Graduate-Entry Medicine at Magdalen College, Oxford. I have so far received a merit for my clinical exam performance and have achieved high results in all written exams. Outside of the work for my course, I have run revision sessions for medical students in the younger years and have run practice interviews for prospective students. I am also a contributing writer to the newsletter of the medical society of Magdalen College, and a member of the college running team and the university’s art club.

Before coming to Oxford, I studied BSc Biomedical Sciences at the University of Manchester and graduated with a First, having achieved such a grade in all three years. I also received a First for my final year dissertation which concerned the historical experience of patients with epilepsy. At A-level, I studied Chemistry, Physics and Spanish, and received a performance prize for my exams.

I began tutoring during my undergraduate degree after becoming a volunteer tutor following the widespread school closures of the COVID-19 pandemic. I enjoyed the role so much that I decided to pursue permanent tutoring work alongside my volunteering. I have since tutored many students, including those based internationally; I am confident in adapting to individuals with a wide range of backgrounds, needs, and goals. As well as one-on-one tutoring, I have run week- long revision courses for classes of students leading up to exams, tailored according to the class’ unique aims.

I am a welcoming and warm tutor who prioritises forming a friendly professional relationship with my student, enabling them to feel at ease and get the most out of our sessions. I am passionate about encouraging younger individuals along their education journey, and I take great pride in playing a part in furthering their knowledge, confidence and capability. I ensure all my lessons are tailored to the student’s individual goals and preferences. I believe that planning and personalisation, while also allowing for improvisation, is key for enhancing a student’s learning experience.
