Mia

Hi! Iā€™m Mia, an undergraduate at the University of Oxford studying Theology and Religion. At A-level, I studied Maths (A*), Spanish (D2/A*), and Philosophy and Theology (D1/A**).

I have grown up switching between the British and International education systems. While this was an experience that has later come to benefit me, being now fluent in both English and French, it meant that I had often studied different material from my classmates. Therefore I can appreciate what it is like to not feel confident with a subject. I believe that tutoring can be vital to building students' confidence for them to achieve their potential.

When I took a year out between school and university I helped tutor children from the local international school. I found this was an important experience for me as I was able to help children get up to speed with and readjust to the international curriculum, an issue that I had when I first moved to Switzerland aged 8.

I am passionate about my degree in Theology as I believe an understanding of religion and its different practices has never been so vital. With an estimated 5.8 billion adults and children being religiously affiliated, the importance of Religious Studies as a subject is not something that should be overlooked.
