Guy

Hi! I’m Guy, a Geographer from Jesus College, Oxford. I received a first (distinction) in my first year exams and finished the IB with 45 points, studying Geography, Economics and English at HL, and Mathematics, Spanish B and Biology at SL.

I’ve tutored and mentored students across GCSE, IB and A-Level in Business, Geography, and Economics over the past few years. Having also been shortlisted in multiple essay competitions at Sixth Form, I am keen to support students in all subjects looking to improve their essay-writing skills. My involvement in delivering a curriculum on climate change at the Oxford Climate Society allows me to incorporate important emerging ideas into my lessons, particularly relevant for Sixth Form students looking to push their knowledge beyond the scope of the syllabus.

The best teachers manage to make lessons engaging, enjoyable and tailored to the particular needs of the student, whilst maintaining a clear structure and challenging the student to improve and push their abilities further. As a tutor, I do my best to plan and carry out lessons that do just that.

Outside of my studies, I’m particularly engaged in issues around climate change. I also enjoy trying new vegetarian foods, cooking, and playing football!
