Ella

Hi! I’m Ella and I’m in my third year studying medicine at the University of Oxford. I’ve loved my time here so far despite the pandemic and am looking forward to the next 4 years. I’m originally from Devon and got both my GCSEs and A levels at a local grammar school where I got 3 A* at A-levels in Maths, Biology and Chemistry. At GCSE and in FSMQ I also achieved all top grades.

I have loved studying the sciences and maths further, with statistics surprisingly being quite a core part of my course. Aiding younger people in recognising their ability and potential in subjects that they haven’t always been confident in brings me great joy. I remember coming across challenging work, and all it took was a new perspective and a bit of help and suddenly I had confidence and genuine interest in even the most mundane of topics. Combining confidence, knowledge and technique is the key to acing almost all exams and all of these skills are highly teachable and achievable from all ages!

I am confident in communicating with a range of ages and abilities and enjoy adapting my approach to the student. I have a broad range of teaching experiences, for example, tutoring an adult individual with learning difficulties, as well as teaching 8-9 year olds about environmental sustainability.
