Chris

Hi, my name’s Chris and I am currently a 4th year medical student at Green Templeton College, Oxford. I recently graduated with a 1st class BA in Medical Sciences, and at A-Level I studied Maths (A*), Chemistry (A*), Physics (A*), and Biology (A*).

I have previous experience tutoring a wide range of ages (from KS2 all the way through to A-level and medicine applications) and abilities. I relish the challenge of working with students on topics that they find difficult, and there is little more satisfying and rewarding (for both student and tutor!) than those ‘eureka moments’ when a student finally understands a concept. I understand the importance of individual learning styles and I am always excited to work with students to find methods and approaches which work for them. Also importantly, I hope to convey my enthusiasm for my subjects to my students, so that learning becomes something that they look forward to.

Within my medical studies, I have a particular interest in systems physiology, and therefore value the importance of learning how/why things work in the way that they do. I have always had this approach to my studies, and it is something that I aim to convey to my students. Once one understands the material, it is much easier to apply this to answer exam questions. On top of this, I recognise the critical importance of exam technique and practice. I find this combination of great understanding and sufficient practice gives my students the confidence to answer anything which may be thrown at them.
