Yeva, French and Italian - University of Oxford
Hi, my name is Yeva and I am a student at Jesus College, Oxford reading French and Beginners’ Italian. Growing up in a multilingual household really fostered my passion and fascination for languages and I love nothing more than to pass on this enthusiasm to my tutees. I studied English Literature, French, History and completed an EPQ at A-Level whilst also passing my certification for the DELE Spanish course. During Sixth form, I was awarded the Sutherland Scholarship for academic and all-round achievement and spent a lot of my time involved in student journalism. I continued this co-curricular interest at University and was the editor in chief of the Oxford Turl Magazine during Hilary Term.
I’m a dedicated and well-rounded student, combining strong academics with extracurricular pursuits such as debating. Having been a keen debater and public speaker in secondary school I wanted to continue developing this skill at university. I am currently partaking in the Corax Francophone Debating Tournament and have reached the quarter-finals thus far.
Outside of education, I am a trustee for the YungMash Collective and have had the opportunity of working with young adults and teenagers, leading workshops and seminars.
I love working with students of all ages and believe that everyone has the capacity to achieve great things, they just sometimes need some extra support to help them reach their goals. I am someone who is patient and attentive, qualities which have helped me build strong foundations with my past and current tutees. My main aim is to support my students in achieving their individual academic aspirations and reaching their full potential.
