Ollie - English, University of Oxford

Hi, I’m Ollie. I am a First Class English Language and Literature graduate from the University of Oxford. In Finals, I placed in the top 5% of my cohort and was awarded the Wilmot Jenkins Prize by Exeter College. I am passionate about the study of literature and tutor English at all ages and levels.

Before university, I was a senior scholar and Apposition prizewinner at St Paul's School in London, where I studied English (D1), History (D1), Philosophy (D1), and Politics (A*) at Pre-U/A Level, all subjects which I would love to tutor in.

My favourite thing about studying English at Oxford was how interdisciplinary the course was, and how often I was able to bring in things I had learnt in my other A level subjects. As a tutor, I am always looking to bring in these links to history, philosophy, and politics that make English such an interesting and important subject to study.

I am currently working as a SEND teaching assistant at a secondary school in West London, with a view to beginning the TeachFirst programme in the new academic year. At school, I have developed a tailored approach to suit each student’s specific needs and help them to grow in confidence and achieve their potential.

I’m looking forward to doing the same for new tutees!
