NIMRAH - HISTORY AND POLITICS, University of Cambridge

Hi! I’m Nimrah, a History and Politics graduate from the University of Cambridge and I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Law at BPP Law School. I am also in the process of applying for an MPhil in the History of Political Thought at Cambridge, building on my academic passion for exploring the development of political ideas and their impact on society. Over the past four years, I’ve been tutoring students at various levels, including preparing for 11+, SATs, GCSEs, private school entrance exams, and Oxbridge admissions, particularly for History, Politics and related disciplines. I also have experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring my lessons are accessible, patient, and tailored to meet individual requirements.

In addition to tutoring, I’ve been involved in outreach initiatives, including Cambridge roadshows and sixth-form visits, to encourage underrepresented students to apply to top universities. My teaching style is rooted in kindness, patience, and ambition. I focus on developing critical thinking and fostering academic independence, empowering students with skills they can carry forward throughout their educational journey.

Whether it’s preparing for competitive entrance exams, breaking down complex historical debates, analyzing poetry, or solving mathematical equations, I aim to make learning engaging, accessible, and rewarding. Having achieved nine Grade 9s and an 8 at GCSE, two A*s, and an A at A-Level, I understand the value of aiming high. I’m committed to helping students reach their full potential while encouraging creativity and curiosity.

My background in History and Politics, paired with my interdisciplinary law studies, enables me to bridge skills across subjects. I encourage students to connect ideas and approaches between disciplines, making learning a holistic and enriching experience. Regardless of a student’s starting point, my goal is to provide personalized support that builds confidence, sharpens skills, and leads to success.
