Hi! I'm Max. I recently completed an MPhil in Theology at Oriel College Oxford, graduating with a Distinction. I was awarded full funding as an Ertegun Graduate Scholar in the Humanities. My postgraduate work focused on ancient Jewish literature in Hebrew and Greek, with a particular focus on the Dead Sea Scrolls and Philo of Alexandria.

Previously, I completed my BA in Theology, also at Oriel. I graduated with a First - with prizes for the best overall performance in the year and the best performance in biblical Hebrew. For finals, I took papers in Hebrew language, Hebrew Bible, rabbinic Judaism, and the Early Church.

I began tutoring during lockdown, and since then have worked with many different students spanning a wide range of ages and levels. I find one-to-one tutoring very rewarding, and really enjoy getting to know the students and helping them progress. I think the inherently flexible and individually focused nature of tutoring allows students to develop their own interests and progress toward their academic goals in a very different way to how they learn at school.

I am extremely passionate about all aspects of Theology and Religious Studies, and would be more than happy to work with students who want help in this area. I also have lots of experience working as a tutor for 11+ exams, and feel confident tutoring this too.
