Lexie, Experimental Psychology - University of Oxford

Hello! I’m Abinaya, an Oxford student reading Medicine. My time at Oxford has been defined by both academic excellence and a passion for mentorship. With a BA in Medical Sciences, I have been honoured with College Prizes for outstanding academic performance. Prior to university, I achieved 3 A*s at A Level (Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology) and 10 Grade 9s at GCSE, reflecting my strong grounding across the sciences.

I have been tutoring for over five years, working with students preparing for 11+, GCSE, and A-Level examinations, as well as university admissions. My experience spans a wide range of abilities and exam boards, and I take pride in tailoring each lesson to the student’s goals, pace, and preferred learning style.

In my tutorials, I place strong emphasis on exam technique, analytical thinking, and confidence under pressure, helping students move from solid understanding to top-tier performance. A distinctive feature of my approach is my commitment to developing intellectual curiosity and communication skills — the qualities that set exceptional students apart. I encourage learners to articulate their reasoning, challenge assumptions, and connect ideas across topics, whether tackling a tricky chemistry mechanism or a mathematical problem. Beyond achieving outstanding results, my aim is to help each student become a confident, curious thinker who approaches learning with clarity and self-belief — skills that will serve them well throughout their educational journey.

Throughout my time, I am grateful to receive positive feedback from parents and students alike, citing fantastic improvements in examination outcomes and success in securing competitive university offer
