Lauren, Natural Sciences & Medicine - University of Cambridge

Hi, I'm Lauren! I'm a resident doctor pursuing a career in surgery, having just completed two years of rotational foundation training in the NHS. I graduated from Clare College, Cambridge in 2021 with a First Class Bachelor's degree in Natural Sciences (ranked 4th in my cohort), before going on to complete my Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBChir) in 2024. I was awarded the Horne Prize for Physical Sciences and the Foundation Scholarship.

I achieved 10A*s at GCSE with an additional Free Standing Mathematics Qualification, and A*A*A in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics at A level, with a Distinction 3 in the Cambridge Pre-U Philosophy and Theology.

I am a friendly and approachable tutor with a strong academic background and I have been coaching students in the sciences, maths, and medicine university admissions for over 4 years. I offer help with technique, timing, and revision strategies for the UCAT, individual guidance on personal statements, and personalised feedback on interview technique.

Having completed 6 years studying medicine at Cambridge, along with a 2-year long career working across Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedic surgery, Renal Medicine, and General Practice, I have significant experience with not only the medical school application process, but what it’s really like to work as a doctor. By offering first-hand insight and dedicated academic support, I aim to help my students build a highly competitive application for what is a truly wonderful and rewarding career.
