Joshua - Law, University of Oxford

Hi! I’m Joshua. I recently graduated from an undergraduate degree in law at Oxford and a master’s in law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School and Wharton Business School. I passed the New York Bar in 2025 (admission pending) and took the England & Wales Solicitors Qualification Exam in early 2026. In September 2026, I’ll begin a training contract at Sidley Austin LLP, an American corporate law firm.

Prior to university, I studied Economics (A*), Politics (A*), History (A), and Theatre Studies (A*) at A-Level. I attained top marks at GCSE and ranked top in a number of university essay and debating competitions. At Oxford I became particularly involved in debating and mooting. At the University of Pennsylvania, I specialised in venture law, securities regulation, and M&A.

At university and beyond I have tutored and taught law. I was the Residential Dean of the John Locke Institute, where I taught Summer School precepts in legal history and supervised student academics. I have delivered LNAT and interview preparation classes to school groups and private clients, many of whom gained admission to their first-choice universities.

My tutoring sessions are not designed to ‘teach’ the fundamentals of law and law school admissions. Instead, my aims are twofold. For essays and interviews, I help students to unlock their own unique voice and manner of thinking, so that they can present themselves at their best to admissions teams and tutors. For exams, I teach students the best tips, tricks, and methods to maximize their success under time pressure. I welcome the opportunity to meet new students and help them develop their legal studies.
