Hello, I’m Joe and I’ve just finished my third year studying at Brasenose College, Oxford. I’m reading for a degree in Physics and Philosophy, having studied Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Spanish (all A*) at A-Level, alongside a Pre-U in Global Perspectives and Independent Research (D1).

Since starting as an independent tutor aged 17, I’ve enjoyed challenging myself to find different ways to explain concepts to students. I have learnt that no one approach works best for every student, and individual tutoring allows me to adapt my teaching to suit the needs of the student.

I’m passionate about physics, and the education I’ve received since starting at Oxford has shown the relevance of topics within the school physics curriculum to physics more broadly and I’m excited to pass this on to the students.

The links between philosophy and physics, which I’m slowly discovering throughout my course, has led me to understand topics on a deeper level, and has forced me to explain my ideas clearly. These clear communication skills, along with my enjoyment of physics and teaching, mean I’m very excited to get started.
