Jessica Julius - Medicine, University of Cambridge

Hi! My name is Jessica and I am a medical student at the University of Cambridge. I achieved A*s across both GCSEs and A-levels, with a strong academic background in Maths, Chemistry and Biology, and I bring both academic rigour and a supportive approach to my tutoring.

Alongside my medical studies, I have extensive experience working with students of a wide range of ages and abilities. I currently work as a private tutor, delivering both group and one-to-one sessions across Maths and Science, and I tailor each lesson carefully to the student’s individual learning style. I place a strong emphasis on building confidence, understanding core concepts, and developing effective exam technique, while tracking progress and providing regular feedback. My experience in education extends beyond tutoring. I have worked as a Learning Support Assistant, supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This role strengthened my ability to adapt explanations, maintain patience, and create a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel supported and motivated to succeed.

I am particularly interested in research and academic inquiry, having completed projects exploring global health, health inequalities, and COVID-19, including literature reviews and data analysis. This analytical approach feeds directly into my teaching, helping students not just memorise content, but truly understand and apply it with confidence.

Outside of academia, I am highly involved in sport. I am the captain of my basketball team and also enjoy playing football, experiences which have developed my leadership, teamwork and time-management skills. I believe these qualities translate directly into my tutoring. I encourage motivation, resilience and a growth mindset in every student I teach. I strongly believe that every student learns differently, and that the most effective tutoring is built on trust, clear goals and personalised support. My aim is always to make lessons engaging, structured and confidence-building, while helping students reach their full academic potential.
