Hannah, Chemistry - University of Oxford

Hello! I’m Hannah, a DPhil student in Chemistry at Merton College, Oxford, specialising in biophysics. During my Master’s research at Oxford, I developed a particular interest in how chemistry can help us to better understand disease mechanisms, for which I was delighted to be awarded a thesis prize. This curiosity continues to inspire my current research.

Alongside my academic work, I have taken great enjoyment in helping young people to engage with science. As a Student Ambassador for the University of Oxford, I have supported outreach initiatives and open days for the Department of Chemistry, encouraging students to think critically about their subject.

I provide tuition in Chemistry and Mathematics, with a particular focus on exam technique. My approach as a tutor is friendly, patient, and encouraging: I aim to help students build both confidence and curiosity, ensuring they achieve their academic goals and understand the real-world application of their studies.
