Greg

Hello, my name is Greg and I have just graduated from Cambridge with both a double first BA and MPhil in English Literature. I took English, French, and History at A level and achieved A* in all. In addition, I took an advanced French course in my first year at Cambridge, achieving a pass certificate equivalent to C1. Outside of my academic time at the University, I also wrote, performed in, and produced a fair bit of theatre and wrote for its student newspaper.

I’ve experience at both teaching in a classroom environment, as well as one-on-one. More importantly, my experience as an Learning Support Assistant with SEN children in school means that I’m capable of working with even children who are more challenging behaviourally, or who struggle with grasping certain concepts. In my capacity as a Designated Person at these schools I have also had plenty of experience with feeding back with parents and giving them a complete picture of where their child is both succeeding and struggling. The important thing is helping to grow the student’s confidence, since all education is really growing our confidence about our knowledge of ourselves and the world around us.

I am a great believer in the student being taught not just how to answer a specific question, but how to become clearer, more concise, and more analytical in their thinking. Understanding the broader concepts and questions which are demanded of them not only makes their learning far more effective! It also makes lessons far more fun and comfortable for the student, something which is massively beneficial for any student.
