George

Hi, I’m George and I am a recent graduate from the University of Cambridge. I studied Spanish (A*), French (A), and History (A) at A Level and was able to build on my passion for learning different languages and cultures by studying Spanish and Portuguese at higher education level.

Being a student of modern languages teaches you more than a new set of vocabulary; it unlocks new perspectives on life, opens up your world to more human connections, and gives you the ability to listen to music, watch films, and read literature from other countries. My academic journey for the past few years has been fantastically enriching, and I’m excited to be able to continue sharing my experiences and education through tutoring with Renewed Learning!

I have experience in teaching and tutoring from spending seven weeks in China, where I was an English teacher for students aged between 5-16. I also tutored six GCSE Spanish students when I was part of MEITS, an interdisciplinary research project funded by the AHRC Open World Initiative to propel and highlight the importance of multilingualism for the future of the UK. Tutoring allows for students to grasp subjects and academic concepts on a more personal level; since I believe that everyone’s academic journey is different, I aim to take advantage of this in my lessons to increase the students’ successes.
