Franklin, Earth Sciences - University of Oxford

Hello! I’m Franklin, a recent Earth Sciences graduate from the University of Oxford, where I completed a four-year integrated Master’s (MEarthSci) at Worcester College, focusing on geophysics, natural resources, and the use of AI in geospatial analysis. My academic journey combined rigorous analytical work with hands-on field experience, from mapping ancient volcanic strata in Snowdonia to researching machine learning models for seismic monitoring. Alongside my studies, I’ve been tutoring for a number of years, supporting students in Oxford admissions and Earth Sciences as well as teaching Sciences, Maths, and Geography at both A-Level and GCSE.

I’m passionate about making complex material approachable, and I love seeing students from a wide assortment of backgrounds gain clarity, confidence, and enjoyment from subjects that once felt overwhelming. Whether we’re tackling tricky physics problems, unpacking data trends in geography, or building a strong foundation in GCSE science, I bring a calm, supportive, and structured approach to every session. I particularly enjoy working with students preparing for university applications, and offer tailored guidance on personal statements, admissions tests, and interviews—especially for Oxford and STEM-related courses. My goal is not just to help students succeed in exams, but to spark curiosity and show how their subjects connect to the wider world.
