Hi, I’m Finn! I am a Mathematics graduate from Girton College, Cambridge. At A-Level, I achieved an A* in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Chemistry, alongside an S grade (the highest possible) in STEP 2 and STEP 3, the Cambridge Maths entrance exams. At GCSE, I pursued a wide range of subjects, achieving top grades in them all.

In my spare time, I am a keen sportsman, with a particular love for cricket. For over eight years, I have combined my passion for the sport with my enjoyment of teaching, by volunteering as a coach at my local club, helping run sessions for children from the ages of six to 15.

I have been tutoring Maths and Physics for a number of years to a wide range of ages and abilities, from struggling GCSE students looking to improve their grades, to top Oxbridge and other University candidates preparing for the TMUA or STEP, and their interviews. Alongside helping my students achieve stellar results, I have been particularly proud to receive feedback that my work with some GCSE Maths students has given them the confidence and passion to pursue the subject at A-Level.

My approach to tutoring centres around fostering an understanding of why certain methods work for solving certain problems, not just how they work: I have found that this not only makes the subject more interesting for the student, but brings about a more genuine understanding, better preparing them for when they inevitably have to approach unseen material, be it in exams or interviews. I believe this approach also best stimulates the natural curiosity which lies in us all.
