Emily, Material Sciences - University of Oxford
My name is Emily and I am currently studying towards an MEng in Materials Science at The Queen's College, Oxford. Prior to University, I attended a state grammar school where I was the sole student to get into Oxford. I have got lots of experience in mentoring students for Oxbridge interviews, and have helped many with proof reading and tailoring their personal statements, too, as this can be the outstanding factor when universities choose who to offer a place to!
I am highly enthusiastic about my studies, and hope this is reflected both in my teaching and in the results I help my students obtain, as I have found many times students struggle to understand concepts as they either lack motivation or it hasn't been taught to them in such a way that they can easily grasp and understand. I firmly believe everyone can learn even the most challenging of topics, it just needs to be viewed from a different perspective, as everyone thinks differently!
I have more than 3 years experience tutoring students at a variety of levels, including in the sciences and maths at both GCSE and A-Level. Alongside this, I have worked with students for Oxbridge interview preparation, with both the PAT and mock interviews.
