Ella, History - University of Cambridge
Hi, I’m Ella! I’m currently a LAHP-funded PhD student at University College London and the Wellcome Collection, investigating the translation of monstrosity in early modern England and France.
Prior to beginning my PhD I graduated with a distinction from my MPhil in the History of Medicine at Jesus College Cambridge. I completed my History undergraduate at Queen’s College Cambridge. Before university, I attended St Paul’s Girls’ school where I studied English (A*), History (A*) and Philosophy (A*) at A level.
I currently support the teaching of undergraduate History students at UCL, and have led several seminars at both UCL and the Wellcome Collection. I also have been tutoring at various different levels since I was fifteen. I started in-person tutoring for students undertaking 11+ and 7+ exams and moved, during Covid, to tutoring GCSE and A Level students online.
I think it is particularly important to have a clear understanding of what students want to get out of lessons so that they can be a rewarding and academically enriching experience! I have also mentored and advised university students on exam preparation, and supported prospective Cambridge students with interview and aptitude test preparation.
