Chris - Politics, Philosophy & Economics, University of Oxford

Hi there, my name is Chris, and I studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at St Edmund Hall, Oxford from 2011 to 2014. I was since fortunate enough to be fully funded as a Queen Elizabrth Commonwealth Scholar for a Master’s degree in Development Studies at the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur. I love exploring subjects across the academic spectrum and finding their connections and overlaps. While at St Edmund Hall I was awarded the Peel Prize for Philosophy and the Simonian Prize for Leadership.

Since university I have been working primarily in the disability sector and the theatre sector, including as Co-Founder of A Relaxed Company, working with major theatre producers across the UK and beyond on accessible theatre for disabled audiences. I also really enjoy tutoring and have been doing so for over a decade with many hours of experience built up across both subject-specific tuition, exam preparation, university application preparation, and general knowledge-building. I have taught individually and in groups, including leading the Business and Enterprise course for Oxford Scholastica Academy both in-person (in 2023) and online (in 2024).

I work best with students who are passionate about learning and discovering; who are open to debate and discussion of ideas; and who are more concerned with the process of finding the answer than with the answer itself. With my extensive background in neurodiversity and disability, I welcome students who learn in all sorts of different ways, and supporting you to thrive in the way that’s best for you.
