Our Tutors - Charlotte Bird

Charlotte - Architecture, University of Cambridge

Hello! I'm Charlotte, I read Architecture with Sustainability Studies at Gonville & Caius College, graduating in 2021 with a Double First. I was also named a Senior Academic Scholar, which is reserved for students achieving a First Class in all three years of study. I was also honoured to receive the Emma Sclater Prize for Architecture upon graduating. Before Cambridge, I attended Stowe School, where I achieved A*A*AA at A Level in Biology, Chemistry, Design Technology, and an EPQ, alongside 10A* at GCSE. At school I was awarded both the John Holland Prize and the Worsley Prize for Design.

Since graduating, I have tutored privately for over five years, working with students across a range of ages and abilities. After my degree, I moved to Ghana to work at African Futures Institute, a pan-African institute rethinking architectural education and practice. I have then pivoted and built a career in financial communications and client services, currently working as a Senior Communications and Client Service Analyst at TT International in Hong Kong. These experiences have sharpened my ability to work across cultures and think creatively about complex problems.

I offer online tuition, specialising in supporting students with Architecture admissions including helping with portfolio development, design theory, and technical drawing. My own experience navigating the Cambridge admissions process, combined with my professional background, means I am well placed to help ambitious students develop both the practical skills and the intellectual confidence that top architecture programmes demand.
