Bosco, Economics and Management - University of Oxford
Hello! I’m Bosco, and I’m currently in my third year at Oxford (Hertford College) reading Economics and Management. I love the tough academic nature of Oxford, and was thrilled to top my college in the first year of my degree, win a scholarship for my exam results, and secure college awards for my contributions to collegiate life. Before coming up to university, I attained A*s at A Level in Business Studies, Mathematics, and Geography, achieving the highest marks in my year at Sixth Form in all three of those subjects. I was also named top student overall at my Sixth Form.
I have worked as an Oxbridge admissions tutor for the last two years, where I have successfully helped two students gain admission to Cambridge to read Economics. I have also tutored and mentored school students across Business, Maths, and Geography. Throughout, I have been grateful for very positive feedback from students and parents alike, and I find it particularly rewarding to see the impact of my tuition on examination outcomes and university offers.
A distinctive feature of my tutorial approach is encouraging students at all levels to apply the content they are learning to their own lives. For instance, when I was 16, I founded my own business and found it enormously helpful to apply my A Level topics and theories to real life. By grounding topics in practice like this, it made them much easier to grasp and remember. Therefore, by thinking beyond the strict curriculum, my students can better form chains of cause and consequence in their exam answers - a skill that is absolutely crucial for achieving high marks. Not only does this approach allow my students to stand out, but it also makes their work more engaging and enjoyable all round.
