Ben

Hi, I’m Ben.

I am studying Biological Sciences at the University of Oxford, and am about to start a masters in Biology here as well.

At A-Level, I studied Maths (A*), Further Maths (A*), Additional Further Maths (A*), Biology (A*) and History (A).

Throughout my time at school and university, I have noticed the great differences in students’ approach to learning. I only feel confident now, about to start my third year at university, that I have finally established a way to optimise my revision techniques. No person learns in the same way, and a dynamic approach is paramount for a tutor. I feel passionate about not only teaching my subject, but also identifying the nuanced ways in which people‘s minds work. At school I was an academic scholar and became the head academic prefect in my final year. This role included a particular emphasis on the identification of revision techniques.. I am all too familiar with finding long sessions of revising for GCSEs or A-levels incredibly arduous. I believe the most important aspect of learning is stimulating an active engagement with the subject. I have had a variety of experience in tutoring, and would be happy to provide some more details if required.
