Archie

Hi, I’m Archie! I’m reading geography at St. Catherine’s College, Oxford, where I am entering my final year. I studied Geography (A*), Economics (A*), and Ancient History (A).

I’ve been tutoring since I was 16, both privately and through various agencies, and have experience at a variety of age groups. I’ve helped an Oxbridge applicant successfully apply to university and have extensive experience tutoring students at A-Level and GCSE. I also worked as a teaching assistant at a leading London Day School in my Gap Year, so have extensive experience teaching younger children as well.

I believe that tutoring must be based on a strong personal relationship between tutor and student. This then leads to individual lesson plans being created for each student, meaning that weaknesses can be focussed on in a way that simply can’t happen in the classroom, and turned into strengths. I also enjoy teaching students beyond the syllabus, as I believe that a wider interest in the subject encourages high performance after tutoring has finished, meaning that academic success is more likely to be sustained in the future.
