Our Tutors - Ally Mitchell
Ally - Experimental Psychology, University of Oxford
Hi there! I’m Ally, and I recently graduated from the University of Oxford, where I read Experimental Psychology at University College. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Oxford, developing a strong understanding of evidence based decision making, statistics, perception and plenty more. Before university, I achieved A*s in Mathematics, Biology, and Psychology, alongside an A in Further Mathematics and an A in my EPQ.
Following on from my degree, I have gained extensive experience working with students in mentoring and educational programmes. Through my role as a Research and Educational Consultant, I have developed bespoke projects for students applying to UK universities and helping them navigate competitive admissions processes, as well as working one on one with students for their GCSE and A level qualifications. I have also been involved in outreach and mentoring through organisations supporting students from diverse educational backgrounds, and have experience communicating complex ideas clearly and effectively to different audiences.
My academic background in psychology strongly influences my approach to tutoring. I aim to help my students master content while simultaneously assessing how best each student learns, helping them to develop effective revision strategies, critical thinking skills, and confidence in approaching unfamiliar problems.
I offer tuition in Psychology, Mathematics, and Biology up to A Level, as well as support with university applications, including Oxbridge preparation.
