Hi, I'm Alessandra, a First Class Biochemistry graduate from the University of Oxford. I've been tutoring for close to 8 years now, and find it such a rewarding experience to help students understand and come to love their subject. In addition to my experience, I feel that my teaching style and flexibility are key to success. My aim is to get to know the student and work out the way in which they will best learn - whether that's to achieve a specific grade in an exam, to understand the fundamentals of a subject better, or just to extend their knowledge beyond what they learn in class for especially gifted students and provide intellectual stimulation.

Beyond preparing students for exams, I also have extensive experience with university entrance, interview preparation and personal statement advice, particularly for elite UK and US universities. I have successfully helped students gain places for Biochemistry, Biology and Biomedical Sciences at Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, Brown, Yale and MIT. I have also helped students with entrance examinations for Eton, St Paul’s, City of London School for Boys, Cheltenham Ladies’ College, Wycombe Abbey and Latymer Upper School.

I believe that the key to helping students improve is knowing what motivates them, and how they work best. I know this might fluctuate based on their workload at school, after a long day, or when stressed for exams, and one of my strengths is being able to adapt to this and make the most of the session, if necessary adjusting my teaching style or the way in which I explain things. I'm friendly, approachable and compassionate, and will always seek to encourage, inspire and motivate students.
