Hello! I’m Aarav, and I am currently in my second year studying Computer Science at the University of Cambridge. Prior to university, I achieved four A*s at A Level in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science, placing within the top 100 candidates for A-Level Computer Science.

I have been tutoring privately for over three years, working with students in Maths, Physics, and Computer Science up to A Level, alongside specialist preparation for university admissions. Guiding applicants through competitive admissions processes is a major part of my work—I regularly run technical mock interviews and mentor applicants through every stage of the process. To date, four of the five students I have supported through the Oxbridge Computer Science admissions process have successfully secured and met their offers.

My teaching centres on first-principles problem-solving. Rather than having students memorise a checklist of methods and test them through trial and error, I focus on helping them understand why things work rather than just how. By learning to deconstruct problems logically from the ground up, students develop the analytical tools and confidence needed to tackle completely novel, unseen problems—a skill essential for both top exam grades and university interviews.

I also place a strong emphasis on drawing out the natural connections between disciplines, particularly mathematics and computer science. Especially in mock interviews, I often guide students to think about core computational systems from first principles, introducing the mathematics involved in deriving them at the same time. Connecting foundational mathematical theory directly to computing helps demystify abstract ideas, turning challenging technical concepts into an intuitive, collaborative discussion.
